Kristel Kovner is an award-winning writer focusing on female-driven stories through a philosophical lens.
Her screenwriting work has been an official selection at BIFF during Berlinale, the International Festival of Cinematic Arts, the California International Film Festival, the LA Indie Film Festival and the Tucson Film & Music Festival. She is a Best Shorts Award winner for writing and producing Where We Start From.
Her editorial writing has been published in Mother Mag and LA Canvas Magazine. As a SAG/AFTRA member, Kristel has also acted in features, TV, commercials, music videos and LA theater productions. She received her BFA in Creative Writing and Film & Media Studies from Pepperdine University in Malibu.
She currently resides in Los Feliz with her husband and two young children.
